What to expect
Forty-five minutes in the chair, then about a week before your skin looks like yours again.
Before
In clinic
After
Two weeks out
No sun, sunbeds or self-tan on the area. Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids five days before.
Day 0
Cleanse, numb, treat, cool. Forty-five minutes. You leave pink and warm, with sunscreen on.
Days 1–3
Pink and warm, like mild sunburn, then a sandpaper feel as tiny dark dots rise. This is the pigment leaving.
Days 4–7
Flaking lifts away and makeup can usually go back on. Mostly clear by day seven: brighter tone, smoother texture.

FAQ
What patients ask before booking MOXI.
How does MOXI work?
+
Columns of light, finer than a hair, pass into the surface; the skin between them is untouched. Old pigment and rough cells rise through each column and shed as fine dark flecks over the week. The skin around each column heals it, laying down fresh, even-toned cells.
Does MOXI hurt?
+
Most people describe it as warm and prickly rather than painful. Numbing cream goes on for about half an hour first, and the skin is cooled as we go. You leave pink and warm, like a day in the sun.
How many sessions might I need?
+
Usually three to four, four weeks apart. A change shows after the first; the full result settles about a month after the last. Some people return for a single session each year to keep it.
What are the risks, and what is the aftercare?
+
Expect about a week of redness, swelling and flaking. Rarer risks are gone through with you before anything is booked. Afterwards, daily sunscreen protects the result.
How long will the results last?
+
The spots that lift are gone. New ones depend on the sun. With daily sunscreen and sensible exposure, the result holds for years; without them, the skin slowly collects new spots and the course may be repeated.
What if I have melasma?
+
Melasma needs a gentler setting and a plan to keep pigment settled, so we look first and advise honestly before anything is booked.
What about deeper skin tones?
+
Deeper skin tones need a gentler setting and a plan to keep pigment settled. We look first, advise honestly, and go through the risks with you before anything is booked.
What does a course of MOXI cost?
+
$650 per treatment, or $850 when combined with BBL in the same visit. A course is usually three to four treatments, four weeks apart.
